Stockings For Change...

New Products range coming soon. Helping those that need help this Christmas.

I'm starting an initiative in response to the current cost of living crisis which is about making stockings where some of the money paid goes to charity. Stockings for Change will have various options available. I'm currently working out a knitting pattern (to knit in the round),. a crochet pattern that should be suitable for beginners and also a pattern to use with a sewing machine to stitch quickly.

The theory behind this is that there will be many ways to get involved. Each one will be priced according to the cost of the materials, a little for my business so I can hopefully look into expanding and pay the administration costs of this site which are currently leaving my business in debt to various people and a little for charity. The amount the charity receives will be at least equal, but probably more than what my business gets for the sale of each product. I promise that whatever is sent to charity - however large or small - will be made publicly known on my Facebook page, this site and, hopefully, my instagram as well.

These are the ways to engage with the project

1. Buy a pre-made stocking (and fill it to give to someone in need you know to have a bigger impact)

2. Download a pattern to make a stocking yourself

3. If there is enough money I get personally through this project to reinvest then a pre-filled stockings will become available with a choice of either simple toys (eg. Lego mini figures) for children who otherwise wouldn't get a present or toiletries for families who are just dreaming of the basics like a toothbrush, toothpaste and soap etc.

4. Buy a complete kit that (if I can work out how to make the website do this) will have the options of buying what you need (yarn, circular needle, yarn needle, fabric, crochet hook, etc) so you don't buy the parts you already have at home.

I have decided which charity I wish to support with this project and have emailed them to ask for approval for raising funds for them this way. If they are happy to be associated with this project then I will announce them ASAP so you don't feel like you'll be raising money for something nameless.

This idea, that I believe was an idea given by God as I don't think I would have thought of it on my own, only came to me over the weekend so please be patient while I sort out all the final details and create the patterns from scratch as I need to do this to not break copyright laws with other people's work.
