Apologies and New Update

Writer's picture: Tamsyn Moreton-TraylerTamsyn Moreton-Trayler

First of all I need apologise that my site hasn't been updated much since December. I became unwell on 1st January while walking home from church with a sudden increase in my heart rate and this didn't really start to settle down until I spent some time in A&E on 17th January where they got my heart rate to stabilise at 94bpm so it wasn't jumping to 210bpm every time I did anything. I hope that you understand that this has left me somewhat more tired than usual. Now we've reached April and the Tax year end (oh joy! more paperwork! 😔) and I've finally been given an appointment in the middle of May to see if they can find out what's wrong. However, I want to take this opportunity to also praise God as He has been gradually been increasing my energy and I'm almost able to live normally now. My heart rate will still jump high from time to time and its not as regular as it was but to have gone from January barely shuffling from room to room to the end of March being able to go out for an almost 4km walk is, as far as I am concerned, a miracle that deserves praise.

So...now I have some energy what is happening with Fellowship Crafts?

  • First of all I have made some changes to the website so that the latest Royal Mail charges are calculated on checkout and have been updating product prices accordingly so the price of P&P is now no longer included in the price of books. This should be potentially cheaper for customers who wish to order more than one or 2 books (though all my books are being sold at a loss as they are from a previous business, and even the higher prices including P&P were making a loss...I just don't have the room at home to keep them or the money to pay for them to be kept in storage)

  • The second thing is I've been updating the secondhand books section with a list of authors down the side so you can choose an author from the list to see what I have for sale under their name. I haven't been able to do this with all authors but am hoping to keep increasing the list over time.

  • The third, and final, major change I have is to have added a general reference and a fiction section into secondhand books page. so far there is only one book under each category, but I'm surprised how many books I still have to go through. My priority will always be Christian books, but as and when I discover other books I will add them in as well.

I hope this update proves that I'm still around and operating the business. I didn't like just leaving things ticking over for so long, but by God's grace I'm back now. If the cardiology department decide I'm not too ill next month then I will also be looking to update my ePOS system to look at opportunities to do more in person stalls. Otherwise I still plan to run this site whatever happens.
